Full Itinerary
This morning, your personal guide and driver will arrive at your hotel’s lobby at 8.30 AM to pick you up. First, we will drive along the Red River dyke, passing through guava and vegetable gardens, to the Ceramic Village of Bat Trang, which is located on the left bank of the Red River. Upon arrival at the village, our guide will lead you through the zigzagging maze of alleyways to learn about the manufacture of ceramic products, the villagers’ daily lives and get beautiful pottery at relatively low prices. During the walking tour, we will make stop at a local workshop to watch the process of making ceramics and you can design your own ceramic bowl or teacup (at own expenses).

We then stop for lunch with delicious local cuisine before proceed the tour to Dong Ho Village, where we discovered the Dong Ho way of painting – this is a very special and unique traditional Vietnamese art form. Images are engraved on wooden boards’ rot-proof modest size. Some large prints require more than twenty boards assembled together. The printing was done on papers of different colors, obtained from bamboo, mulberry bark or rhamnonuron (Do paper). Our last stop will be Dong Ky Village, where you can see traditional Vietnamese wooden furniture decorated with pearl inlays. After the tour, you will be escorted safely back to your hotel stay in Hanoi.

Option 2: Chuong Conical Hat - Quang Phu Cau - Van Phuc Silk villages

Tour Itinerary
08h00 : Pick up from hotels in Hanoi.
09h00 : Arrive at Chuong Village, Quoc Trung Commune, Thanh Oai District. Visit and experience traditional conical hat making at the Traditional Hat Workshop. Observe and learn about the techniques of making conical hats and how artisans create exquisite products. Participate in a hat-making workshop, experiencing each step from processing palm leaves to shaping the hats under the guidance of skilled artisans.
12h00 : Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
13h00 : Visit the Conical Hat Market and Local Shops. Stroll through the hat market, learn about the traditional market atmosphere, and the daily life of local people. Here, you can shop for hats, hat-making materials, and souvenirs for family and friends.
14h00: We depart for the Quang Phu Cau village, which has been producing incense for more than 100 years. We will take a walk to the center of the village, see how people are making incense at family scale.
14h30: We are going to stop at a family who specializes in dyeing the incense stick, visit their drying yard and take some cool photos of the incense bundles.
15h30: Say goodbye to the incense-dyeing family, we will be having a factory tour at the biggest incense factory in the town. You will have a chance to see how incense is made from scratch by visiting every production section of the factory, as well as learn more about life of manual worker in the countryside. It is also a chance for you to shop some incense for souvenir at the place it is produced.

16h00: Drive to Van Phuc Silk Village. The village has been much well known for its traditional sericulture, weaving, and premium quality silk products.
16h30: On arrival, we will stroll around the village to see local families that have specialized in weaving and dying silk over many centuries. You also see different stages of local artisans make handmade silks. Later you have free time for shopping in the village’s shops or drop by a local family for a chat with the owner over a green tea about the history of the village.

17h30: Return to Hanoi. You will be brought back to your hotel. Your day trip in Hanoi ends.
